Healing Hunger and Building Community
Welcome to my page. Please join me in supporting the Food Bank of Western Mass. As you know, since SNAP benefits have been held, and because of other government cutbacks, THE NEED HAS NEVER BEEN GREATER!
Note that you can give to me on this page, or to my team: the money goes to the same place.
Since 1982, the Food Banks of Western Massachusetts has provided healthy food to citizens of Hampden, Hampshire, Berkshire, and Franklin counties.
The Food Bank serves over 100,000 people a month--14 million meals. 29% of them are children, ages 0-17-- a fact near to my heart, as a pediatrician.
Each $1 you give provides three meals, served at shelters, soup kitchens, brown bag programs for the elderly, mobile vans and more.
The Food Bank supports local agriculture, purchasing food from 29 area farms. They also rescue food that restaurants would throw out. They also provide nutrition education to residents in the Valley.
